Meet Jenna
Photography Bio
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Jenna Ashlyn is a visual storyteller whose work explores the power of movement, emotion, and human connection. Her work lives at the intersection of emotion, performance, and truth.
With roots in Musical Theatre, Jenna carries a lifelong love of storytelling into her photographic practice; translating rhythm, movement, and vulnerability into still images that speak.
Her work explores the power of movement, emotion, and human connection whether it’s on stage or behind a lens.
Jenna has a strong passion for capturing live art (dance, concerts, and theatre etc.) where she captures the heartbeat of performance and translates fleeting moments of art into lasting visual stories. Beyond the stage, Jenna’s curiosity expands into Social Documentary and Photojournalism, using photography as a means to question, connect, and reveal.
It was during her first year of study that Jenna discovered her voice for Social Documentary photography; one that seeks not just to observe, but to feel. Through her work, she invites others to pause, reflect, and see the world with a little more empathy. Whether it’s through performing or behind the lens she aspires to create art that makes people both think and feel, with the hope to spark conversation.
